From symmetric building blocks to neural synchronization in the connectome

Published:

In this poster I explored how a concept in graph theory, “fibration symmetries,” can potentially be present in a worm’s neural wiring and the implications of such symmetries for synchronization in neural dynamics, as demonstrated via simulations based on ordinary differential equations.

Step by step calculus 1: Learn from scratch. Online Course.

Online course, Udemy, 2019

Calculus One is an introductory course to calculus as a subject. It covers all the essentials: from knowing what a function is to finding limits, taking derivatives, and sketching a given curve. This course is vital for any student wishing to pursue a degree in science or engineering. For each topic that is covered in this course, it starts by giving a general introduction to concepts followed by problem solving, because practice is definitely the best way to learn. The course concludes by introducing MATLAB, which is a powerful scripting tool that allows you to graph curves, take derivatives, and much more using a few lines of code.

MIT + FIT: Generative design for footwear design

Workshop, Advanced Functional Fabrics of America, 2019

Taught students at the Summer 2019 MIT and FIT AFFOA Workshop how to integrate the up-and-coming generative design technology for footwear sole development. In general, students learned to integrate design and engineering for creating advanced functional fibers, yarns, and textiles, and they developed innovative product concepts like biodegradable footwear and active textiles with embedded technology for safety and performance.

Scanning electron microscope art

Student workshop, Fashion Institute of Technology, 2021

Worked with students over several weeks to fine-tune their art project of imaging at the small scale. Using a scanning electron microscope along with its secondary electron detector (SED) surface topography imaging capabilities and backscattered electron detector (BSED) compositional contrast, that information was used to color different regions.

Color and Light Science 2019 - 2023

Science lab for fashion student majors, Fashion Institute of Technology, 2023

Served as the teaching assistant for multiple sections of SC 332 - Color and Light at the Fashion Institute. In this course the basic principles of color science, including color measurement and color reproduction, are examined. I mainly focused on aiding students in using scientific equipment such as colorimeters and Vis-NIR spectrometers, among others, to translate theory into practice.

Physics Laboratory Teaching 2019 - 2023

For Biomedical and Engineering majors, City College of New York, 2023

Taught underrepresented biomedical and engineering undergraduate majors introductory physics concepts through elaborate lab setups and in-class work, covering wave dynamics, electronics, and light-matter properties.
